United States Coast Guard
The U.S. Coast Guard is one of five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, and falls under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The Coast Guard is the nation's oldest continuous seagoing service with responsibilities including Search and Rescue (SAR), Maritime Law Enforcement (MLE), Aids to Navigation (ATON), Ice Breaking, Environmental Protection, Port Security and Military Readiness.
In order to accomplish these missions the Coast Guard has 38,000 active-duty men and women, 8,000 Reservists, and 35,000 Auxiliary personnel. These functions are served from over 300 land-based facilities as well as from 100’s of seagoing cutters and boats located around the world.
The eOn Millennium Converged Communications Platform and eOn Voice Processing System (eVPS) have been deployed to over 200 U.S. Coast Guard land-based facilities and shipboard applications,
including:
- Regional Command Centers
- Search and Rescue (SARs) - 100+ locations
- Electronic Service Units
- Coast Guard Boats and Cutters
The Millennium’s robust business feature set coupled with its inherent ACD capabilities provide the customer with a highly flexible platform required for a variety mission statements. The platform’s capability to interface to a plethora of station side and network side connections to include proprietary digital instruments, secure terminal equipment (STE), industry-standard analog station devices, analog trunks with ICLID, T-1, PRI and E-1 interfaces provide the ability to adapt to ever-changing environments.
The eOn solution also includes a Millennium hardware platform that has been specifically modified to withstand the rigors and severe environmental conditions that exist in seagoing vessels. The flexibility and adaptability of the eOn solution has enabled the customer to utilize a single platform serving many different applications thus reducing on-going maintenance and training costs.
