East Software Park Team to Provide Advanced Contact Center
ATLANTA (April 24, 2006) – eOn Communications Corporation™ (NASDAQ: EONC), a global provider of innovative communications solutions, today announced that it has agreed to partner with the city of Hangzhou, China and East Software Park to provide advanced contact center services for the 2006 World Leisure Expo. The World Leisure Expo is to be held from April 22, 2006 through October 22, 2006 in the city of Hangzhou. Hangzhou, a city of over 6 million, is a popular vacation destination in China because of its close proximity to the beautiful waters of WestLake and its rich cultural offerings and colorful history.
The main objectives of the Expo are to spearhead the development of the leisure industry within China, accelerate the improvement of the country’s tourism infrastructure, and to speed the evolution of tourism service models. Officials expect to attract over fifteen million visitors and over fifty thousand exhibitors from more than sixty countries.
East Software Park is situated in Hangzhou’s High Tech Development Zone, listed by the government of China as a national software industry base and as such has benefited from government programs designed to encourage hi-tech investment and entrepreneurialism. The park currently provides infrastructure services for more than 180 companies. It offers tenants advanced services such as a regional wideband IP network suitable for the delivery of high speed data, voice and video services and customized e-commerce platforms, one of which is to be used for the 2006 World Leisure Expo.
The partnership was formed as a result of close cooperation between David Lee, eOn’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, James Wang, General Manager of eOn China and Song Xiaochun, Chairman of East Software Park. Together they have forged an agreement with the top officials of the 2006 World Leisure Expo in which East Software Park will provide the infrastructure necessary to support the customer service center for the Expo. eOn Communications will provide the associated technology systems and process consulting, including the eQueue Contact Center platform. Contact center services will also be made available to other resident businesses of East Software Park and support for the city of Hangzhou government service center is planned for later in the year.
"One of our company objectives is to accelerate the development of information technology and to provide excellent multi-media services to companies in the East Software Park and to the local government by employing advanced technology products such as the eQueue system," said Song Xiaochun, Chairman and CEO of East Software Park.
"World Leisure Expo 2006 represents a tremendous opportunity for eOn to showcase its products and services to millions of visitors and hi-tech businesses in the Peoples Republic of China," added James Wang, General Manager of eOn China.
