eConn SIP Trunking Delivers Cost-Effective Enterprise IP Communications

Altavox Offers 1,000 Minutes of Free North America Long Distance

SAN JOSE, CA (November 19, 2010) – eOn Communications is pleased to announce native SIP trunking support on its flagship enterprise IP communications platform - the eConn IP-PBX. SIP trunking delivers reduced connectivity costs to customers and provides open access to feature-rich IP networking. The eConn can connect directly to the service provider’s network using the SIP protocol. SIP trunks provide calling features, billing capability, and emergency services equivalent to more expensive point-to-point T1 and PRI circuits.

SIP trunking can simplify a customer’s network infrastructure by converging all local, long distance, private voice and data traffic onto a resilient IP backbone without compromising business-critical features or network reliability that businesses depend upon. Customers can utilize existing Internet connectivity with sufficient bandwidth to support the required number of simultaneous calls. The eConn along with a Quality of Service (QoS) compliant router will allocate the appropriate amount of VoIP bandwidth for each call leaving the customer’s premise. Calls are then routed over the public Internet to the service provider’s Session Border Controllers that setup the best route for each call.  All system trunk access mechanisms, dial access capabilities and related features supported on T1/PRI trunks can be used for SIP trunks.
